soft boycott

in “soft boycott” we can understand a form of non-direct, non-confrontational resistance. subtle subversions, lateral actions, small instances of disobedience, which are not so much about telling those in power what’s what than about claiming a bit of autonomy and agency for ourselves, however minor, if only for some form of emotional relief. a piece of chewing gum stuck under the desk of an asshole boss.
