education in relation to domestic work possesses many dimensions: domestic work can include the education of the children of others, both as more formal schooling or in the broader sense of child care. often, migrant domestic workers are charged with the responsibility of looking after other people’s children but cannot spend time with their own. A structural inequality that affects both ends of the social spectrum negatively (assuming that, generally speaking, parent wants to spend time with their children), but that persists nonetheless. furthermore, domestic work in itself is also a process of (self-)education, learning skills and capabilities required to do the work better and more efficiently – not just because of external demands to efficiency, but also to win leisure time as well as mental space. also, children need to be instructed from an early age on to do domestic work – clean up after yourself – and should furthermore be taught the importance and the value of maintenance work. (often children learn this through various forms of games in which they mimic, with a joy and playfulness that we can in turn learn from, what will later become work.) 

Domestic Worker can be an entrepreneur

My answer is yes! But we need to work hard and be dedicated to achieve this. We also need to learn the basic mathematics earnings – expenses = savings. Every Sunday during my day off I spend some time in studying and sometime in volunteering to serve my fellow domestic workers. I chose the entrepreneurship course because that’ how I see myself after being a domestic worker. On my graduation day, I even received an award ‘best business plan’ which is also based on my own business plan as entrepreneur someday.
